President Hugo Chavez has vowed to stay ahead in Venezuela presidential election next year. Thus, he dismissed the issue stating that his cancer prevented him from running on president election.
"I never even thought about not running in the presidential election," Hugo Chavez said in an article in the newspaper Correo del Orinoco, as quoted by CNN on Monday, July 25, 2011.
